DUFF MCKAGAN UNSURE ABOUT VELVET VOCALIST SEARCH
Duff McKagan is now rejoining his Velvet Revolver bandmates in searching for a new frontman, but the bassist admits that it's not easy given what he's been done with the lot in the past. He says in his latest "Seattle Weekly" column, quote, "How am I am alleged to give, say, a new singer in Velvet Revolver - should we resolve to get one - a fighting chance, given all of my past history with our previous singer, Scott Weiland?
He says that he honestly has much in green with Scott and merely wishes him the real best. But he adds that he stills feels "a little bit screwed by that situation."
McKagan says he doesn't feel screwed by Weiland per se, but more by allowing himself to get hung up on, quote, "some major league, old school rock trappings and getting stuck there." He adds, quote, "A study environment mixed with the emotion of trying to present a shared vision and audio can sometimes just get downright ridiculous. This time I will simply try it differently."
NATHAN FOLLOWILL TALKS ABOUT FANS' "FAREWELL" E-MAILS
Kings Of Leon may be at another level after their hugely successful 2008 hit "Sex On Fire," but with commercial success also comes some sour grapes amongst fans. Drummer Nathan Followill tells "The Daily Mirror" the band lost some fans after "Sex On Fire" was released. He explains, quote, "I've gotten a pair of farewell e-mails from fans saying it was a well run, but we're to the point where they get to part us with too many people who don't like us for the 'good' reasons. But then those same people sent me e-mails two months later acting like nothing happened and they're back on the bandwagon." Followill says he's not too concerned with either the recoil or the tide of new listeners. He adds, quote, "If everyone likes you it wouldn't be any fun, so it's right to make that change in there."

Singer Ben Bridwell tells NME.com, quote, "This began as a very random idea I had on my dad's patio after we watched our beloved Georgia Bulldog football team get robbed of a win at the men of the referees and LSU last year. I knew I wanted to pay homage to my favorite team in song, but didn't give any thought how to begin."
After hearing Green's "Georgia" he knew precisely what to do, especially given the fact that Green had already covered one of their songs. The radical has also reached out to Common and will offer their songs on a split seven-inch single which can be pre-ordered at BandOfHorses.com/Georgia.
